Referee's report by Michael Foster, on a paper 'On the minute structure of the leg-muscles of the water-beetle' by Edward Albert Schäfer Recommended for publication in Philosophical Transactions. It's publication will 'mark an important step in the advance of our knowledge of the constitution of striped muscular fibre'. Referee included suggestions for modification, which should be actioned, as they would make the paper 'more complete' and increase it's 'already high value'.
