<dc:title>Referee's report by Hugh Hamshaw Thomas, on a paper 'Further experimental investigations of the shoot apex of Dryopteris aristata Druce' by C W Wardlaw</dc:title>
  <dc:description>Sectional committee: Botany

Recommended for publication in Philosophical Transactions. It contains new and important information but also much repetition of views and comments. The author refers to papers that haven't been published yet, but that he expects to published in the Annals of Biology in 1948 or 1949 but it is impossible to know what these will contain. The discussion doesn't seem to bring out any new conclusions. A physiologist should review the paper.

[Published in Philosophical Transactions B, 1949].
