Lennard-Jones writes to express that he has 'more papers to referee at the moment than I can cope with [...] I am writing to Professor Curtis, the Chairman of the Physics Committee, to explain to him that I an unable to accept all the papers being sent to me at present, as they come from bodies dealing with mathematics, physics and chemistry.' [The four papers would eventually be refereed by Rudolf Peiers (see RR/73/74-77) and published in Philosophical Transactions A as 'The growth of crystals and the equilibrium structure of their surfaces'.]
