<dc:title>Referee's report by Frederick Gugenheim Gregory, on a paper 'Cell wall studies in the Chlorophyceae. II. A preliminary study of the effect of continuous illumination on wall structure in Cladophora rupestris' by E Nicolai and Reginald Dawson Preston</dc:title>
  <dc:description>Sectional committee: Botany

Paper reference code: B61

Recommended for publication in the Proceedings. Gregory writes: 'This paper is a valuable contribution to the problem of cell wall structure and the experimental data presented are of great interest. The only criticism which I have to make is on the presentation. The authors tend to be verbose and not always very happy in their modes of expression. I have therefore suggested various emendations to the text with the aim of eliminating redundant and repetitious remarks. The authors may be ready to accept these alterations which I have made, either as a whole or in part.'
