<dc:title>Letter from Albert Günther, to George Gabriel Stokes, regarding a paper 'Description of the living and extinct races of gigantic land-tortoises.—Parts III. and IV. The races of the aldabra group and mascarene islands' by Albert Günther</dc:title>
<dc:description>Has had great difficulty undertaking to reduce the cost of the illustrations as requested by the Committee. Had taken cost into account in his original selection, omitting many specimens which would have been desirable. Any reduction would therefore hinder the use and understanding of the paper. Since the research has moved forward a lot since the original paper was published, asks permission to withdraw the current paper and publish it later along with the original paper. If this is allowed, would add a note explaining that parts three and four were accepted for publication in the Philosophical Transactions, but withdrawn with permission of the Committee for inclusion in a future, separate publication.
