Letter from [William George] Armstrong, 65 Eccleston Square, to [Robert Henry Scott] Armstrong explains that he attempted to come to the Royal Society Club dinner, staying over in London for the purpose, but found Willis's Rooms closed. He did not have his card and could not find out where the dinner was being held. He is now almost eighty years of age, and travels less, therefore tendering his resignation in favour of another. 22 May 1890
