Letter from William Thomson, The University, Glasgow, to Dr [John] Gwyn Jeffreys He is quite ashamed at failing in his duties as a Royal Society Club member, thinking that his resignation of last summer had been accepted. There is no prospect of him being able to attend as he is seldom in London at the right time. He must therefore resign in favour of someone else. He asks Jeffreys if he owes subscription for the year, and if it should be sent to Admiral Jeffreys. 31 March 1879
