<dc:title>Letter from S F [Sidney Frederic] Harmer, 30 Courtfield Gardens, to [Henry Capel Lofft] Holden</dc:title>
<dc:description>He notes that there was much business [at the Royal Society Club], enclosing the minutes. Miss [Constance] Elam declined the invitation and the Club was amused by the incident. The word 'crystalline' in the motion passed is explained, referring to a comment of [Ernest] Rutherford's on appreciating the Bakerian lecture. He does not think that Harmer should take the selection of chocolates too seriously, but he might allude to it in a letter to Miss Elam. A definite motion should be formulated at the Annual Meeting. Some telephone messages were difficult to understand; he called Bragg who is still convalescing and who did not attend, but Bragg concurred with the view that if Miss Elam had accepted, she could not be excluded. </dc:description>
