Letter from S F [Sidney Frederic] Harmer, 30 Courtfield Gardens, to [Henry Capel Lofft] Holden Harmer thinks that the mistake in Messrs Haig's advertisement should be corrected. He does not know where they got the 1709 date from, as the Royal Society Club only claims existence from 1743. It may be that Admiral Smyth's book goes back further, but Harmer has not seen a copy. 11 December 1922
