<dc:title>Letter from Thomas Gold to Dr James Van Allen, Department of Physics, University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa</dc:title>
<dc:description>An invitation from the Mount Holyoke and the Five-College community for him to give an evening lecture.

Gold gave a lecture on the 'Promises of Space', saying what NASA is and is not doing. There was much interest, and a panel discussion could well be organised.

Is enclosing some pages of a circular to the lunar scientists, showing how much NASA would now like to use the misguided enthusiasm built up by people olike O'Neill. Note that the specifically discourage precise discussion - no doubt because these would destroy enthusiasm. </dc:description>
