<dc:title>Letter from Thomas Gold to Drs K G Widing and K P Dere, E O Hulburt Center for Space research, Naval Research Laboratory, Washington DC</dc:title>
<dc:description>Gold has read their preprint of August 10 with great interest. It seems to him to provide a good case for the type of phenomena that are needed to explain a wide range of non-thermal phenomena on the Sun.

He is enclosing a reprint of the Nobel Sympsium of 1968 in which some of these points are discussed, such as the need to suppose that triggering occurs even within the same flare.</dc:description>
