  <dc:title>Letter from Thomas Gold to Dr Heine Volk, Max-Planck-Institute fur Kernphysik, D-6900 Heidelberg 1, Postfack 10 39 80, Germany</dc:title>
<dc:description>Thanks him for his letter. Hre is very happy to have the invitation to visit Heidelberg, and will let him know when he next plans a trip to Europe.

Gold was very interested in Volk's lecture in Bonn, and will read his papers on planetary formation with care. It seems that they have pursued rather similar lines of thought on this subject. If Volk or any of his colleagues have thoughts in relation to the chemistry of carbon in the forming Earth, Gold would be particularly interested at the present time, since he is working further on the terrestrial carbon problem. </dc:description>
