Letter from Thomas Gold to Dr Alan J Grobecker, Director, Atmospheric Sciences, National Science Foundation, 1800 G Street, N.W., Washington DC Gold assumes tht the proposal has been handed to Grobecker's department by now, as this was the plan of action that was agreed to in Gold's meeting with Mr Gaines in November. Gold will be glad to discuss any problems with it or make whatever modifications are needed to get them started soon. Gold is enclosing a few items that are of interest in regard to his thesis. The variation of atmospheric oxygen content in geologic time seems to be a large and important subject, clearly related to his story. They are pulling together what is known of this. 8 December 1978
