<dc:title>Letter from Thomas Gold to Dr P Kusch, Eugene McDermott Professor, The University of Texas at Dallas, Box 688, Richardson, Texas</dc:title>
<dc:description>Encloses a set of articles that are concerned with the depth of the lunar 'regolith' (as it was called to avoid calling it dust, as Gold had done since 1955). States the opposition was: 'not a speck of dust' (Luna 9). 'less than the dust on my piano' (Whipple, 1958 ) 'possibly two or three inches' (Surveyor landings), 'around three meters' (Apollo drill not hitting bedfrock at 2.5 meters).

Gold is glad to hear of his interest and of course would be delighted to discuss it all with him.</dc:description>
