The file is indexed by the names of the recipients of the letters. The letters were numbered by Gold or a secretary from 1 to 459 (there is no letter numbered 253). There are some letters at the back of the file along with a note stating that they are 'undated papers before June 5, 1967'. However, the first letter after the note dates from 4 November 1966.
