Letter from Thomas Gold to Dr Brian O'Brian, Texas Says that circumstances are auspicious to the establishment of Dr O'Brian's 'pied-a-terre'. Goes on to say that the University will make faculty appointments but that that would difficult until Dr O'Brian 'set[s] the scene'. Goes on to say that Sagan and Pollock are coming here and that Arecibo [Ionospheric Observatory] will continue adequately but with a slightly smaller budget than they would like and that the NSF [National Science Foundation] will take over a large part of the funding [of the Observatory]. 16 February 1968
