<dc:description>The files contain faxes, e-mails and letters to Thomas Gold from numerous individuals and organisations, May 1996, Oct 1997, Jan-Feb 1998. The files also contain faxes, e-mails and copies of letters from Thomas Gold to various individuals and organisations, Dec 1997-Feb 1998. The letters, faxes and e-mails cover various matters e.g. Gold explaining the origin of his deep hot biosphere idea (658); his comments on an article about the efficiency of wind erosion on Mars (655); his comments on the belief that hydrocarbons can only be produced by biology and the possible origins of non-racemic mixes. His comments arose from an article he had been e-mailed, ‘Are the polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in ALH84001 of extraterrestrial origin? A reevaluation’ (649, 660). The letters, faxes and e-mails have been numbered by Gold or a secretary from 631 to 660. They are not indexed and were originally stored in a hanging file. </dc:description>
