Atkinson Morley's Hospital was a branch of St George's Hospital. Resident neurosurgeons included Wylie McKissock and Lawrence Walsh. McKissock also held a Wolfson Research Fellowship. Later papers in the file refer to the closure of beds at the Wolfson Medical Rehabilitation Centre, Atkinson Morley's Hospital. 

The application was made to the Wolfson Foundation's 'Science and medicine' programme area. 

The application meeting was held on 22 November 1963.
