Clergyman, Church of England; Author Education: St. John's College, Cambridge BA; DD Career: Ordained deacon (1822); ordained priest (1823); perpetual curate of Ilketshall, St. Lawrence, Suffolk(1824); appointed evening lecturer at St. Mary’s, Bungay (1825); usher at Norwich grammar school (1825-6); moved to London and worked as a bookseller (1827); alternate morning preacher (1829); perpetual curate of St. James, Hampstead Road, London (1836-1857); chaplain to University College Hospital (1834-1879); held the vicarage of Hughenden Manor, Buckinghamshire (1835); chaplain to Thomas Johnson, Lord Mayor of London (1841); given the rectory of St. Mary Somerset, with St. Mary Mounthaw, in the city of London (1857). Parents: John Stebbing (d. 1826) and Mary Rede (c.1760–1843).
