Career: Joined Bombay Native Infantry (1821); Assistant Quater Master-General of Army, India, Headquarters Bombay, (1828); lost his life in Kabul tragedy, murdered by Afghan mob, with annihilation of a force of between twelve and fifteen thousand men of Indian Army, including camp followers.
