Education: University of St Andrews MD(1922) Career: Admitted a Licentiate of the College of Physicians 25 June 1822, and a Fellow, 9 July 1847. Surgeon, Royal Navy. Knighted 16 September 1831 by William IV, whose physician he was. Flag medical officer to Lord Nelson during his command in the Mediterranean. On being placed on half-pay, he settled as a physician at Plymouth.
