Career: Director of the Nuffield Insititute of Comparative Medicine (1964 to 1980) and Director of Science to the Zoological Society (1966 to 1980). He is a member of the Editorial Board, Transactions of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene; a member of the Steering Committee on the chemotherapy of Malaria WHO Special programee; Chairman of the Royal Society Animal Guidelines Steering Committee; and consultant, the Wellcome Trust.
