Children: One son and one daughter. Engaged in geological investigation in Scotland since 1902, and has made important contributions to our knowledge in this field. Has introduced new conceptions into the interpretation of several geological problems in Scotland, particularly in respect to the complicated tectonic structure of the old Highland rocks. Author or joint-author of many papers and Survey memoirs.
