Physician Education: Manchester Grammar School; Emmanuel College, Cambridge (admitted 1667); Leyden (MD 1674) Career: Practised in Manchester Parents: Thomas Birch Additional relatives: uncle Sir Peter Brooks Birch wrote his MD dissertation on scurvy and dedicated it to his family as well as his proposer Theodore de Vaux (FRS 1665). Unfortunately, little else is known about his personal life or his medical practice in Manchester.
