It is quite possible he was related to the prominent Beaumont family active in Heaton, Yorkshire. The politician Richard Beaumont (1574-1631) built the Whitley Beaumont estate, which was the seat of the Beaumont family until 1917. The Fellow Richard Beaumont was not particularly active in the Society after his election.
