Meteorologist Education: BA (1881) Corpus Christi College, Cambridge Career: Designed pressure tube anemometer; Director of Experiments on upper air for the Meteorological Office (1905-1922) Personally taken lead in exploration of the upper air of the British Isles by means of kites. Memberships: Fellow of the Royal Meteorological Society (President 1901-1902) 1914 Symons Medal, Royal Meteorological Society 1924 Buchan Prize, Royal Meteorological Society Married 1882 Catherine Emma Tugwell; two sons, LHG Dines and JS Dines who both followed their father into the Meteorological Service of the Air Ministry.
