His first published work 'On the scent-bags in poll-cats' is contained in Plot's work on the 'Natural History of Oxfordshire' (1677). Through the physician Richard Morton, Tyson also became acquainted with Robert Hooke (FRS 1663). His published works particularly highlight his interest in comparative anatomy.
