Physician Medicine Education: Leyden (admitted 1667); MD; Incorporated at Dublin (1684) Career: Practised in Dublin Memberships: Dublin Philosophical Society Unfortunately, little is known about Sylvius' familial background or his medical practice. It is likely that his name is the Latinized version of a French or Dutch original name. While he was never admitted into the Royal Society after his election, he was a very active member of the Dublin Philosophical Society.
