Government official Education: Christ Church, Oxford (matriculated 1676); Lincoln's Inn (admitted 1678) Career: Clerk of the Crown; Prothonotary and Chief Clerk of the Common Pleas; Keeper of the writs and other records of the Court of the King's Bench (Ireland) Parents: Sir John Percivall and Catharine Southwell Siblings: Philip Percivale (FRS 1675); succeeded his brother as 3rd Baronet (1680) Married: Catherine Dering Children: John Percivale, 1st Ear of Egmont (FRS 1702) Additional relatives: uncle-by-marriage Sir Robert Southwell (FRS 1663) Percivale was inactive in the Royal Society's work and only paid his admission. His son later became 1st Earl of Egmont, who was a an influential Anglo-Irish politician and was involved in the establishment of the colony of Georgia in North America. While Percivale was serving as foreman of a grand jury at the Assizes to Cork, he caught and died of typhus.
