Physician; Surgeon Anatomy Education: Apprenticed to a surgeon; Trinity College, Cambridge (admitted 1663); MD (Lambeth); Incorporated at Cambridge (1671) Career: Practised as surgeon in London; Physician to Charles II Memberships: Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (1687) Parents: Edmond King and Alice King Married: Rebecca Crisp Additional relatives: Sir Nicholas Crisp (FRS 1663) King was particular interested in human and animal anatomy as well as blood transfusions, for which he worked closely with Richard Lower (FRS 1667). He was also active in surgical experiments with Robert Hooke (FRS 1663) and Peter Balle (FRS 1663) and showed a keen interest in entymology.
