Title | Letter from Oliver [Joseph] Lodge, Normanton, Lake, Salisbury, to [Alan Archibald] Campbell Swinton |
Creator | Lodge; Sir; Oliver Joseph (1851-1940) |
Date | 7 April 1921 |
Description | Robinson informed him that Swinton is trying out copperlot experiments and that he can get signals easily by a coil inside a wire gauge cage, and suggested that this is because Swinton utilises the magnetic component, which would not be screened. States that if this is the case, it is very important, explaining that he has been investigating the separation of electric and magnetic components but that it is necessary to make very sure of the anti-screening effect, with chinks being the thing to avoid, remarking that 'unsoldered chinks are the devil'.
