| Description | Acknolwedges receipt of a previous letter and the information within it. Agrees that the potentiometer on the rectifying valve does not appear to be of much use and that there appear to be proper advantages from using reaction with the new amplifier. Understands that what Burbury is using is magnetic reaction taknen off from the plate circuit of his second H. F., valve, enquiring that if this is indeed the case, how else he arranges it. Requests a simple diagram of the connections Burbury uses. Reports that their new instrument is working very well indeed but the use of reaction seems to assist it to a very small extent. States that they have three valves H. F. then one detector working on a leaky condenser, and then two L. F., the whole of the connections being as per enclosed diagram [enclosure not present]. Seeks any criticism. |
