Title | Letter from [Alan Archibald Campbell] Swinton, to Alexander Russell [Esquire], F. R. S. |
Creator | Swinton; Alan Archibald Campbell (1863-1930); British electrical engineer |
Date | 5 July 1928 |
Description | Acknowledges receipt of a previous letter. Comments that he always thought his cathode-ray method of television would be difficult to work out, preventing him from doing anything for years. Believes it can be accomplished now than when he first thought of it and if he was ten years younger, he would reattempt it. Interested to hear what Russell has to say regarding his recent visit to Baird's laboratory, commenting he has never seen any of his demonstrations himself and that the lectures he went to featured no demonstrations. Discusses the commercial exploitation of share value and maintains he has no personal financial interest in television, only scientific. |
