Description | Responding to previous letters, informing he agrees that Mr. Russell should be asked to do the portrait of Dr. Graham Bell. Comments that Bell is a very tall man and that Russell has a habit of making sitters look too small. Invites Rowell to visit the Institution to see the busts they already have and comments that if they do not wish to have all the busts themselves, and if they are really good, he might find a purchaser for some of them in Professor [JC] McLennan, of Tornoto, who has got a collection of busts of scientific men, and for whom he is presently having a copy made of the celebrated bust of Newton, by Roubillac, in Trinity College Library, Cambridge. |
