DescriptionRemarks that his present appointments are very unsettled and that he cannot come to Tunbridge Wells. He spent the previous day with Lord [William] Armstrong and his wife, attending the Crystal Palace Electrical Exhibition. Remarks on the advanced ages of the Armstrongs, commenting on their active nature despite it. Informs he has discovered a new method of photographing electric sparks, reporting surprising results, enclosing a cyanotype. States that Preece, electrian of the Post Office is much excited at these and wants Swinton to exhibit them at the Royal Society Conversazione on 15 June, remarking on the high probability he will do so.

This letter comes with an attached cyanotype which has been housed in a separate melinex sleeve, for preservation reasons.
