Description | Mottley reports his observations on temperature during lunar and solar eclipses in 1827. During a solar eclipse on 26 April and a lunar eclipse on 11 May, he found no change in temperature. During a solar eclipse on 20 October he reports that the temperature fell seven degrees. Likewise, during a lunar eclipse on 3 November, the temperature rose five degrees.
