Description | 'On the divining rod, and its use for discovering sources of water, mining hidden treasures, [finding] fugitive thieves and murderers'. The author explains the use of the divining rod in Piedmont [Italy] to find precious metals and lost money, and says that he recently discovered that the divining rod was not commonly used in England and wanted to bring it to the Society's attention. He then explains that he has fallen on hard times in England and he requests financial assistance in returning to Swiss Lombardy.
