Description | Bose aims to identify the general effect of radiation, visible as well as invisible, on matter; whether or not it is possible sometimes to obtain similar effects through agencies other than radiation; and 'the various molecular after-effects by which we are able to distinguish one portion of a substance acted on by radiation from another portion which is not so acted on.'
