Description | Present at the meeting: the President in the chair; Mr Combe; Captain Kater; Dr Wollaston; Dr Young;
Minutes of the Council of 12 June appointing the Committee were read.
' Resolved that this Committee do approve of Mr Harris' propositions of applying continuous Copper Conductors to Ships, but they are of Opinion that a Solid Rod would be preferable to a thin plate of equal substance as less liable to oxidation or injury, and they are likewise of opinion that if the conductor teminate in the keel it should be of copper united to a thicker plate than the usual covering of the Ship.
