Description | ' The Chairman of the Physical Sciences Research Committee, consulted in January 1966, approved a recommendation to be made to Council by the Treasurer and the Physical Secretary that a grant of up to £756-16-0 from the Scientific Investigations Grant - in - aid be made to Dr P E Baker, Mackinnon Research Student, to enable him to visit Easter Island and the Juan Fernandez Group in the period February - June 1966 in connexion with his research on the volcanology and petrology of island - arcs and mid - ocean ridges.
The Chairman of the Physical Sciences Research Committee, consulted in October 1966, agreed on behalf of the Committee that permission be given to Dr P E Baker to visit the West Indies [Caribbean] for four weeks in January 1967 to supervise a research student while carrying out field work on the geochemistry of recent volcanic rocks from the Lesser Antilles.
