Read two letters, one from R R W Lingen from the Treasury Chambers to the President of 16 March 1877 concerning the proper strength of the Department of the Hydrographer to the Admiralty, and the second from Robert Hall of the Admiralty of 6 March 187 7to the Secretary of the Treasury setting out the difficulties in transferring Ocean Meteorology in its entirety to the Hydrographical Department of the Admiralty.
