Minute of the meeting of Council on 3 April 1879 appointing the Committee was read.

Apologies for absence from Mr Bowman

Resolved;
1. That a salary of £150 be offered to the Clerk to be appointed
2. That an advertisement be inserted once in The Times, Academy, Athenaeum and Nature.
' Royal Society. The post of Clerk and Assistant to the Librarian is now vacant. Applications stating age and qualifications, accompanied by testimonials, to be sent to the Secretary, Royal Society, Burlington House, on or before April 26th. Salary £150 per annum, without apartments. '
