Minutes of 25 April read and confirmed

Concerning services of a second officer (refused); appointment and pay of non-commissioned officers, to be same as in the Transit of Venus expedition.

Letter written by President at suggestion of Dr Rae to the Secretary of the Royal Geographical Society (see Letter Book page 35) and there was every reason to believe the Council of the RGS would lend the instruments.

Concerning equipment lists, dispensing of extra equipment charges by Allan Line and Grand Trunk Railway, applications to Treasury for whole or part of sum promised for expedition.

List of instruments sent out by the Meteorological Council attached.

Authorisation to Captain Dawson to pay appointed men one month in advance before leavng England, and two months before leaving Winnipeg.
