Application from the London Committee appointed to carry out the Middle Class examination of the University of Oxford to use rooms. Letter from Conrad Hume Pinches, Honorary Secretary to the London Local Committee, 20 May 1858, to President and Council of the Royal Society, full text entered into the minutes: explaining the unexpectedly large number of candidates for the University of Oxford examination in support of the application for room use, and noting that this request would not be repeated; resolved that the request be acceded to as an unforeseen emergency. Consideration of the Presidency was entered into and adjourned to the next meeting. |
