Citation | Captn William Walker of Sheuston near Lichfield in Staffordshire A Gentleman well versed in Mathematicks, Astronomy, Mechanicks, especially the Art of Shipbuilding, and in Natural knowledge: who having used the Sea for thirty years hath made Several Curious Observations in the Art of Navigation, and in Hydrography and hath been a dilligent collector of Natural Curiosities, a large parcell of which he hath lately presented to the RS, and also Communicated a curious peice of Hydrography being a plan of the Bay of Honduras; & now being desirous to be a member of this Society we recommend him as a person who is likely to be very usefull in making the Enquiries which may be desired of him, in various parts of the world |
