Citation | Monsr Le Monnier the Younger of Paris MD and of the Royal Academy of Sciences, being desirous of becoming a fellow of this Royal Society, has been recommended by Monsr de Reaumur, and Monsr Maupertuis, both Members of the Same residing at Paris: and we do as well upon the Credit of those recommendations, as upon what we Otherwise know of this Gentlemans general Character & reputation propose him as well qualified for the honour he desires, and as likely to be a usefull and valuable Associate. He was lately employed to go in company with Mr Cassiny de Thury, to collect Observations in Botany and Natural History, when that Gentleman was lately Sent to verifie the Meridian of the Observatory through the kingdom of France by New Observations: and the Curious remarks which he made in that Expedition have been publisht by Order of the Royal Academy of Sciences together with those of Monsr Cassiny |
