Citation | Captain Daniel Ross, of the East India Compy's Bombay Marine Service, now residing at Woodford in Essex, a Gentleman conversant with several branches of natural science, and well known by his excellent surveys of the China Sea and its contiguous inlets, which have improved the Geography of those parts, and greatly added to the security of Navigation and Commerce, being desirous of becoming a Fellow of the Royal Society, we the undersigned do of our personal knowledge consider him deserving of that honour, and likely to prove a valuable member of the Society |
