| Citation | Has published work on pure mathematics, 1913-1914. Worked with Prof A V Hill on experimental gunnery, 1916-1919, making, with his colleagues, notable advances, some of which are described in three papers published by the Society. Since the war, working with partly with Prof C G Darwin, has contributed to the theory of statistical equilibrium in kinetic theory, in particular to the theory of dissociation. Recently, with Mr E A Milne, has applied the results to the discussion of stellar absorption spectra. |
