| Citation | Has carried on researches in Biochemistry and Physiology among which are: The Formation of Hydrochloric Acid in the Gastric Tubules of the Vertebrate Stomach; The Effect of Prolonged Hyperpnoea (experimental tetany); Studies on the Acid-Base Equilibrium and Blood Chemistry; Studies on the Chemistry and Physiology of the Parathyroid Glands and Calcium Metabolism. Collaborated with Banting, Best and Macleod in the researches on Insulin, and discovered the process (the Collip process) by which insulin suitable for clinical use was first prepared. His discovery of the Parathyroid Hormone and the method of isolating it for clinical use are also signal achievements. A highly trained biochemist, intensely keen and indefatigable in research. |
