Title | Pryce, Maurice Henry Lecorney: certificate of election to the Royal Society |
Citation | Distinguished for his work in theoretical physics, in particular quantum and classical electrodynamics and general quantum mechanics. Contributions to the study of singularities in Electromagnetic fields and the so-called "neutrino theory of light", which he showed to be incapable of describing the facts. In classical electrodynamics work on the theory of electromagnetic energy associated with point charges. In general quantum theory contributed to the understanding and application of the principle of relativity. In the war he made important contributions to the development of radar and in the nuclear field. (List of publications appended). |
